Session Presentation:
I mapped out and explored the intersections between Zulu culture and Queer Experiences from historic to contemporary manifestations.
At The Crossroads
A lot happens at the intersection between isintu sakwa Zulu and 'Queer' experiences
There's a lot of history at this crossroads
A lot of pain and tears of pleasure
The stories we know
Stories untold
Stories forgotten, silenced...whispers
And stories held close to the chest
Violence continues at this crossroads
So, does joy and those soft moans
Young lovers still steal kisses under the streetlight
Everyone arrives and exits at this intersection from different directions
But nobody can say this crossroads does not exist.
